Jesus said, “If you love me, feed my sheep.” While we know he wasn’t talking about actual food, one of our church members decided that she wanted to do just that. She got several other people in our congregation together and voila! Our Peanut Butter and Jelly Ministry was born!

Each Wednesday, she and other members of our congregation make sandwiches. It could be PB&J sandwiches, it could be ham and cheese sandwiches, it could be a hot meal. They make a bunch. Then they drive out into the community and hand the sandwiches along with bottles of water and fruit to people they see. They head to the places where homeless people are most like to be gathered.

In addition to a bagged meal, recently our team began to carry things that met other needs such as, coats, warm hoodies, hand warmers, socks, gloves, hats and scarves, toiletries and feminine products. They have even bought dog food to help a homeless man feed his hungry dog. Ask us how you can get involved!
